We have an update on Jerry Lawler, the WWE legend/broadcaster who collapsed on air during Monday Night Raw yesterday and required CPR backstage before being rushed to the hospital.
A company rep says Lawler "is in a cardiac care unit and all his vital signs are stable" at the moment, adding that "WWE will provide additional information as it becomes available. We continue to wish Jerry all the best for a full recovery.”
Stacy Carter, Lawler's ex-wife and a past WWE Diva, also chimed in via Twitter, saying the announcer underwent surgery not long after the incident and had a "stint & a balloon put in." He remains heavily sedated as a result.
Lawler, known as "The King" and a 40-year veteran of the industry, fell to the ground approximately 30 minutes after wrestling a tag-team match in Montreal. He is 62 years old.
