1 dead, 3 wounded in gunfire near Texas courthouse

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) ? Police say one person has been killed and three wounded after a gunman opened fire in front of a Texas courthouse.

Beaumont police say the man suspected in Wednesday's shootings near the Jefferson County Courthouse has been injured and captured.

Officer Doug Kibodeaux declined to identify the suspect. Kibodeaux says the suspect was going to court with his when he opened fire. Kibodeaux did not immediately say whether any of the victims were related to the suspect.

KFDM-TV reports that the courthouse was locked down.

Beaumont is about 80 miles (128 kilometers) east of Houston.
